Dicks Bar at 290 Sanchez Street had the distinction of being the last straight bar (despite its name) to "turn gay" around 1995 when it became the Jackhammer. Longtime SF residents will also recognize the Bob Buckter Color Consultant sign. Apparently Bob's still around, picking colors.
