Rare academic study of a male nude holding a long piece of wood. Subliminal message there? Probably an albumen print from the late 19th C., mounted on board with protective glassine and paper covers.
What makes this stunning image especially interesting are the instructions for the printer, handwritten in pencil on the cardboard. While these notes are in English, the photo was acquired from a collector in Paris.
